## Use Talarius when something needs attention.

Your code decides when an application event matters. Talarius only carries the short alert to the receivers you configured.

- A deployment fails: Send one alert from the final failed step, after the deployment has stopped.
- A background job gives up: Alert only after the job has used its normal retries and still needs attention.
- A payment workflow stalls: Send a short alert with a non-sensitive reference your team can use to investigate.
- A service stops checking in: Send free heartbeats while it is healthy. Talarius alerts when check-ins stop and resume.

## Two ways to send an alert.

Use a notification when your code already knows what happened. Use a heartbeat when a missing check-in is the useful event.

- POST /api/v1/notify — Something happened: Your app sends a title and a short, non-sensitive description.
- POST /api/v1/heartbeat — Something stopped checking in: Your service sends an empty check-in. Talarius creates down and recovery alerts.

## Use your phone. Add a browser display if it helps.

Pair an iPhone or Android phone for push alerts and local history. You can also keep a live browser display open on another screen. A project can use both.

## Set it up in three steps.

- Create a project: Name the app or service and copy its API key.
- Pair a phone: Enter the short code in the iOS or Android app. A browser display also works.
- Add the request: Call the notification endpoint, the heartbeat endpoint, or both.

## No monthly plan.

One accepted alert costs one credit whether it targets one device or ten. Credits are shared across projects and expire one year after they are added.

- **1,000 credits — $1:** 1,000 accepted alerts
- **10,000 credits — $5:** 10,000 accepted alerts

New verified accounts receive 100 welcome credits. Talarius is prepaid and has no subscription.

## Data handling

Talarius persists service data only for as long as necessary for essential operations. Keep alert content concise and non-sensitive; do not include secrets, credentials, personal, confidential, regulated, or other sensitive information.
